The Skylotec ActSafe Power Ascender ICX is the latest addition to the Skylotec ActSafe rope ascender range. It is smaller, lighter and slightly different from the world-renowned ACX. The ICX is designed to make light industrial work at height and/or in confined spaces easier, more efficient and faster compared to manual equipment.
Suitable for persons and loads
In combination with an 11 mm EN 1891 type A standardised line, the ICX is suitable for raising or lowering one person. Skylotec has tested and recommended a number of lines for optimal performance, highlighting the importance of using a sturdy/hard line such as the Patron Plus lines from Teufelberger. In addition, the ICX is suitable for handling loads, provided that the special equipment lifting rope is used for this purpose, up to a maximum of 185 kg.
Husqvarna battery
Skylotec ActSafe has chosen to use an existing Husqvarna battery for the ICX. These batteries have been known for years for their high reliability and excellent power. The ICX comes standard with a BLI200 LI-ION battery. With a user load of 100 kilograms, one battery charge is sufficient to climb up to 230 metres of rope.
ACX or ICX
Compared to the ACX, the ICX is smaller, lighter and, of course, a lot cheaper to buy. Keep in mind that the ICX is designed for less intensive work in environments that do not push the device to its limits. For heavy-duty work and extreme environments (offshore, industry, rescue work, etc.), the ACX is and remains the right choice.
