Petzl Maestro S

The Petzl Maestro S is a descender equipped with an integrated pulley function with a reverse brake.

The Maestro has been specially developed for use during technical rescue operations and makes it possible to lower even heavy loads in a controlled manner or to hoist them up. Thanks to the ergonomic handle, the user retains control of the descent speed.

Combined hoisting and descent system
The Maestro is designed to allow the user to switch directly from the descent function to the hoist function without first having to block the load and/or transfer it to another system.

The Petzl Maestro offers the possibility to create different hoist configurations.

Pulley function
The integrated pulley ascender has a large-diameter sheave mounted on a waterproof ball bearing, ensuring high efficiency when hoisting loads.

Auto Lock System
The Auto-Lock system of the Petzl Maestro ensures that when the lever is not in use, the system automatically locks and the user can retrieve rope (hoist/lift) without having to activate the handle.

Remote control of the Petzl Maestro
The Petzl Maestro is equipped with a tie-in point in the handle of the device. This point is suitable for attaching a throw line, the Petzl Airline. Make a stop knot at the end of the throw line so that the line cannot be pulled through the tie-in point of the handle. This addition allows the Petzl Maestro hoist and descent set to be operated remotely, giving the operator a better view of the person being lowered. NB. Use one hand to hold both the rope and the throw line, so that the descent can be carried out safely and in a controlled manner.
