Skalt Miniblock

The Skalt Miniblock is a compact self-retracting fall arrest block with webbing, designed for professional use in construction, industry and rope access. The automatically retracting webbing and internal braking mechanism limit fall distance and the forces acting on the user. The Miniblock is integrated into a personal fall arrest system between the anchor point and the fall-arrest harness and is certified under the supervision of notified body SGS Finland (CE 0598).

The Skalt Miniblock is a robust, compact fall arrest device with webbing, intended for intensive use in industrial environments. Its small housing makes it suitable for workplaces with limited space and for situations where the block is frequently relocated or used in temporary set-ups.

Service life and time in service of the webbing version
For the webbing version, the maximum service life is 12 years from the date of manufacture and the maximum time in service is 10 years from the first date of use. During this period, the Miniblock must be used, stored and maintained correctly to ensure the safety performance of the fall arrest system.

Mandatory periodic inspection by a certified company
To ensure safety, a periodic inspection every 3 years by a certified company is mandatory for the Miniblock. This inspection covers, among other aspects, the brake function, the condition of the webbing, the housing and the markings. The results are recorded in an inspection log together with the date of manufacture and first use.

Use in professional fall arrest systems
The Miniblock is deployed as a component of a complete personal fall arrest system comprising an anchor point, connecting device and fall-arrest harness. Correct positioning relative to the anchor point contributes to a favourable fall factor and reduces the risk of a swing fall. The internal braking mechanism reacts rapidly to sudden acceleration of the webbing and stops the fall within a short distance.
