Petzl I'D-L

The Petzl ID L is an industrial self-braking descender (ID stands for "Industrial Descender") equipped with an anti-panic function and protection against incorrect installation of the line.

The Petzl ID-L is a widely used descender for rope access-related work and is also commonly used in rescue kits, line systems and hoists.

Specifications of the Petzl ID-L:

• Multifunctional handle that, depending on the situation, serves to:
  - Controlling the descent with the other hand on the free end of the rope;
  Positioning yourself at the work site without having to place the rope over the device with a stop loop;
  - Move more easily on a sloping or horizontal surface thanks to the new button on the handle.
• The handle automatically returns to the locking position when released.
• Equipped with an anti-panic function that activates if the user pulls too hard on the lever, automatically slowing and stopping the descent.
• Locking pawl with an "error indicator" to prevent accidents caused by incorrect insertion of the rope into the device.
• Equipped with a tiltable cam to easily pull through excess rope. This also offers the possibility of making a hoisting system reversible and performing short ascents on rope (with a Petzl FootPro foot loop and a Petzl Ascension hand ascender).
• Thanks to the screw, the mobile flank can be locked so that the I'D can be integrated into a rescue kit.
• Suitable for lowering a heavy load of up to 280 kg (reserved for experienced users only).
• Suitable for ropes with a diameter of 12.5 to 13.0 mm.
• Weight: 600 grams.
• As a supplement to the Petzl ID-L, an additional brake block (open or closed) is available for extra control during descent, for example during a rescue.
