The 3M DBI Sala Suspension Straps are designed to relieve the pressure points of a safety harness after a fall.
Compact & lightweight
The Suspension Straps are stored rolled up in two compact zip bags, which are equipped with a sturdy press stud and a loop for attachment to the fall arrest harness. Thanks to this compact bag and the lightweight material, these suspension straps do not get in the way during regular use of the fall arrest harness.
Relief of pressure points
When someone is suspended in their harness, this immediately causes pressure points in the blood circulation which, if this lasts too long, can be life-threatening. By standing in these suspension straps, pressure points are relieved and the risk of losing consciousness is reduced. Not only by standing, but also by being able to apply counterpressure with the feet in the suspension straps, the risk of so-called harness suspension trauma (also known as hanging trauma or orthostatic hypotension) is reduced.
Practice
After a fall, shock or injury can make it difficult to connect the suspension straps. We therefore recommend training each individual in this procedure. The victim must be freed from their position as quickly as possible. Please contact us for advice on options for rescue from fall protection.
