Precautionary measure: Petzl Naja and Eject
Date of publication: April 15th 2025.
Following user feedback from the field, we have become aware of
rare instances of unintentional loosening of the strap attachment
screw on the NAJA and EJECT friction savers. In the cases observed,
this loosening is limited and the screw does not come out of its
seat.
In accordance with our policy of continuous product improvement and
customer satisfaction, and as a precautionary measure, we will
update the NAJA (G004AA00) and EJECT (G001AA00). We ask that all
NAJA and EJECT owners implement our recommendations (see
below).
=> These products will be assembled with a
TUFLOK® pre-glued screw.
=> We have increased the tightening torque to 4
Nm (instead of 3 Nm).
Products will now be marked with this new tightening torque.
Products sold starting April 2025 (serial numbers 25Dxxxxxxxxxx)
will have these updates.
We will provide this TUFLOK®pre-glued screw to NAJA or EJECT users,
free of charge. To obtain it, please contact your dealer or your
local Petzl after-sales service via this form specifying NAJA /
EJECT Screw in your request.
If you prefer, you can also apply a medium threadlocker (type
LOCTITE® 243) and increase the tightening torque to 4 Nm. A
torque wrench must be used to do this.
At each assembly/disassembly, verify the presence of this
threadlocker and re-apply it if necessary.
We remind you that it is essential to verify that the screw is
properly tightened before and during use. If the red O-ring is
visible, the screw is not tight enough.
We are counting on your cooperation in following these
recommendations and remain at your service for any additional
information you may need.
