Call for inspection: CMC Clutch
Date of publication: May 1st 2025.
CMC and Harken are issuing a Product Inspection Notice for CLUTCH
units manufactured November 19, 2024 through April 10, 2025.
We have identified one 11 mm CLUTCH unit that has shipped to a customer with a loose rivet pin. As a precautionary measure, we are issuing this Product Inspection Notice for 11 mm and 13 mm CLUTCH units (Product Numbers: 335011-01 & 335013-01) with serial numbers 2024 324 - 001 through 2025 100 - 999.
If you have a CLUTCH, please immediately inspect your device and
confirm that the rivet pin is installed and secured using the
inspection steps below.
1. Verify the serial number on the CLUTCH, see image below:
2. Inspection Procedure: On the back side of the CLUTCH,
inspect if the pin is fully secured. The pin should have a formed
head and be immobile. Refer to the images below for specific
examples of passing and failing inspections.
3. If your CLUTCH does not pass inspection or if you have
any questions, please complete this form. This form will allow us to better assist
you with inspections and repairs. We are available to review
photos, conduct calls, or otherwise assist with this process. We
will provide shipping labels for the return and repair of affected
units free of charge.
4. You may resume using your CLUTCH once the inspection is
complete and the product passes your inspection per the Product
Inspection Notice, or it has been sent back to CMC for
replacement.
As a reminder, all CLUTCH units should be inspected and function
tested before/after use and yearly in accordance with the User Manual.
